Professional Mice Control for Ontario Homes and Businesses
The house mouse is the most common pest in Ontario homes and businesses. Small, fast-reproducing, and capable of squeezing through any gap the size of a dime, mice establish nesting populations in wall cavities, attics, and basement areas quickly once inside. The timeline from first entry to established infestation is typically four to six weeks — which means most homeowners are dealing with a population of dozens by the time they notice droppings, gnaw marks, or scratching sounds in the walls.
The pattern we see repeatedly in Ontario homes is this: a homeowner buys snap traps in October, catches a few mice, and assumes the problem is solved. By December the scratching sounds return — because the structural gaps that let the original mice in are still open, and outdoor populations are still pushing against the building as temperatures drop. Effective mice control is not just about eliminating the mice that are currently inside. It requires a complete exterior inspection to identify and seal every entry point so that new mice cannot replace the ones that were caught.
Why Mice Problems Get Worse Without Treatment
A mouse problem does not resolve on its own. Female mice begin breeding at five to eight weeks of age and produce up to ten litters per year. A small population of a few mice in fall can become dozens by winter and hundreds by the following season if untreated. Mice are also extraordinarily adaptable — they avoid new objects in their environment initially, learn which traps are dangerous, and quickly find alternative food sources and nesting sites if disturbed.
The physical damage caused by mice compounds over time. Mice gnaw continuously on wiring, wooden framing, PVC piping, and insulation to keep their incisors sharp. Chewed wiring is one of the leading causes of house fires in North America. Rodent urine and droppings in insulation create odour problems and contaminate the air in living areas. The longer an infestation is left untreated, the more extensive the cleanup and structural repair required.
Our Mice Control Process
Full Property Inspection
We inspect the complete interior and exterior of the property — examining every potential entry point, documenting all evidence of mouse activity, identifying nesting areas, and assessing the environmental conditions contributing to the infestation. Nothing is assumed; every finding is verified and recorded.
Interior Trapping
Professional snap traps and multi-catch traps are placed at all active interior locations — along walls, inside cabinets and drawers, in attic and crawl spaces, behind appliances, and in any void areas where mouse evidence is found. Trap placement is precise and based on inspection findings, not random placement.
Exterior Bait Stations
Tamper-resistant exterior bait stations are installed around the building perimeter — at foundation entry points, along exterior walls, and near any structural gaps identified during inspection. Exterior stations intercept mice before they enter the structure and reduce the overall population pressure on the building.
Structural Exclusion
Exclusion is the permanent sealing of every entry point identified during inspection. We use the appropriate material for each gap — steel wool reinforced with expanding foam, metal flashing, hardware cloth, or mortar — ensuring mice cannot re-enter through any previously accessible opening. Exclusion is not optional; it is the most critical step in preventing re-infestation.
Follow-Up and Confirmation
We return for a follow-up inspection to assess trap results, check exclusion integrity, reset or reposition traps as needed, and confirm that the infestation has been fully eliminated. We do not consider the service complete until mouse activity has ceased.
Commercial Mice Control in Ontario
Mouse activity in a commercial food environment poses immediate health code and liability risk. Even a single mouse sighting in a kitchen or food storage area can result in a failed health inspection. We provide commercial mice control programs for restaurants, warehouses, food processing facilities, and office buildings across Ontario. Programs include exterior bait station maintenance, interior monitoring, and scheduled inspection visits with full service documentation. Learn more about commercial pest control.
Mice Control Service Areas
We provide mice control across Ontario including Vaughan, Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton, Richmond Hill, and all surrounding areas.
