Humane Wildlife Removal Across Ontario
Wildlife removal is one of the most nuanced services in pest management, requiring understanding of animal behaviour, Ontario regulations, and the structural dynamics of residential and commercial buildings. Unlike insects or rodents, wildlife animals are intelligent, strong, and capable of returning to — or creating new access to — a building unless every entry point is permanently sealed after removal.
Our wildlife removal service provides complete removal of the animal, permanent exclusion of all entry points using heavy-gauge materials, and assessment of structural damage caused by the animal's presence. We operate in compliance with all Ontario wildlife regulations and handle all species humanely.
Wildlife Commonly Found in Ontario Homes
Raccoons
Raccoons are one of the most destructive urban wildlife pests in Ontario. They have strong forepaws capable of tearing open soffits, bent-over fascia boards, and deteriorated roof edges to access attics. Once inside, they create large nesting sites and deposit significant quantities of waste material that is biohazardous and damages insulation. Raccoons are intelligent and persistent — they will return to a familiar access point repeatedly unless it is sealed with heavy-gauge exclusion material. Learn more about our raccoon removal service.
Squirrels
Squirrels access Ontario homes through roof vents, gaps in fascia boards, and small openings around the roofline. They are most active at dawn and dusk and can be heard running and scratching above living spaces during those times. Inside attics, squirrels chew wiring, gnaw wood framing, and create large nesting areas out of insulation. Squirrel problems are common in Ontario from fall through spring when populations are searching for winter shelter. Learn more about our squirrel removal service.
Skunks
Skunks establish dens under decks, porches, sheds, and foundation steps across Ontario. They are nocturnal diggers, and their burrowing under structures can undermine foundations over time. The most immediate concern is the risk of spray — a direct skunk spray near your home can create odours that penetrate the structure for weeks. Professional skunk removal and den exclusion prevents this risk while addressing the root problem. Learn more about our skunk removal service.
Bats
Bats roost in attic spaces and wall voids of older Ontario homes that have gaps in the roofline, around chimneys, or in deteriorated soffits. Bat presence creates a biohazard risk from accumulated guano, which can harbour Histoplasma fungi. Bat removal must follow strict timing protocols under Ontario regulations to avoid harming animals during maternity season. Our bat removal service includes proper timing, exclusion device installation, and permanent sealing after all bats have exited.
Our Wildlife Removal and Exclusion Process
Property Inspection
We inspect the full exterior of the building — roofline, soffits, fascia, vents, chimneys, foundation, deck and porch perimeters — to identify all access points used or potentially useable by wildlife. We also inspect the affected interior areas to assess the extent of the nesting, damage, and contamination.
Removal
The removal method is tailored to the species and situation. For raccoons and squirrels, one-way exclusion devices are installed at the primary entry point — allowing the animals to exit but not re-enter. Trap-and-remove is used in cases where the situation requires it. Baby animals are located and removed as part of the process.
Exclusion Installation
After confirming removal is complete, heavy-gauge galvanized steel mesh, metal flashing, and hardware cloth are installed at all identified and potential access points. This is the most critical step — one-way devices are replaced with permanent closures, and all secondary entry points are sealed before the job is considered done.
Damage Assessment and Repair
We assess all structural damage and contamination caused by the wildlife infestation and can recommend and perform repairs to soffits, fascia, insulation, vapour barriers, and other affected materials.
